Overview

Responsible for provisioning, supporting, and maintaining the configurations and operations of systems hardware and software and other related infrastructure. Charged with installing, supporting, and maintaining IT infrsastructure technologies such as servers, storage, Citrix, WMWare and Active Directory, planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. Assists project teams with technical issues, technical analyses, and support of the IT infrastructure.  On-Call 24x7 support of degradation of service required.

Responsibilities

Analyzes and/or implements all on-going system maintenance and enhancements as needed. Defines any impact of updates and act accordingly. Verifies proper system operation where appropriate.score: N/A Uses system tools to adapt application to meet design specifications.score: N/A Assists in the development, implementation and support of application interfaces to ensure data integrity.score: N/A Maintains and facilitates ongoing communication between appropriate system vendors and/or Medical Center staff. Works with customers/staff to identify and research problems and evaluate solutions and alternatives. Formulates plans to resolve user issues and/or problems within established guidelines.score: N/A Develops, maintains and revises necessary system documentation and/or application training materials and conducts training as needed.score: N/A Maintain system and user security, performs and verifies system backups within established guidelines. Tests all changes for completeness, including any system aspect that could be impacted by the change. Where appropriate tests that all required data elements pass through interfaces.score: N/A Provides user education as necessary to ensure all user are well versed in the application functionality.score: N/A Performs on-going daily user support and/or round the clock on-call support as scheduled or necessary (remote or on-site).score: N/A Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital.

Qualifications

Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years of previous work experience in hospital information systems administration and workflow. Knowledge of and experience with client/server technology, networking, user management, project management and databases preferred. Experience in multiple system applications, the ability to draft and edit the context of business and technical documents required.  Requires analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail and problem resolution. Must possess strong customer service, communication, organizational & interpersonal skills. Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), Certified Citrix Administrator (CCA) and VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) preferred.
