Overview

Leads the establishment and ongoing faciliation of system wide product value analysis processes and structures to support the alignment of system objectives, strategic goals, and to control system supply costs. The role of the Value Analysis Coordinator will be to support the optimization of patient care, patient safety, caregiver safety, physician satisfaction, and Supply Chain performance through the oversight of a product review, evaluation, selection, and implementation process.

Responsibilities

Works in a normal patient care area or office environment where there are relatively few physical discomforts due to dust, dirt, noise and the like. Works with equipment or performs procedures where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises or muscle pulls. Works in an area in which there is exposure to hazardous chemicals or carcinogenic agents which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment. Works in an area in which there is exposure to radiation which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment. Work requires exposure to blood and various body fluids which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment. Works in an area that is very uncomfortable because of extreme temperatures, noise levels, odors or other similar conditions. Work requires handling of hot liquids, toxic or flammable chemicals, or contaminated materials which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment. Works in close proximity to high voltage electrical current and/or moving machinery, or with power tools and equipment (table saws, drills, etc.) which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Nursing required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey required. Minimum three to five years' of progressive experience in the clinical setting and prior experience in cost containment and expense management preferred. Work requires analytical skills in order to evaluate the hospital product marketand determine the best value for the organization. Advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills.  Demonstrated skills in clinical practice and knowledge of process engineering, supporting technologies, and emerging trends in process design and application. Professional knowledge associated with acute care and ambulatory practices.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
