Responsible for coordinating and prioritizing patient flow activity for all points of entry requiring a bed, ER , Cath Lab, OR, PACU, Direct Admissions, SDCC, and Transfer Center. Registers patients when Patient Access is closed and registers all transfers. Collaborates with the Transfer Center RN's, Unit Managers and off shift Supervisors to improve patient throughput while working in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Utilizes the electronic Bed Board to prioritize, assign, change, and upgrade bed status, assists all requestors on the use of the Bed Board when necessary . Assures that appropriate orders are received on requests for unique bed placement and communicates with the appropriate personnel when discrepancies occur. Must be able to make independent decisions based on Infection Control guidelines and hospital policy. Directs questions or concerns to the appropriate level.score: N/A Responsible for accurate registrations of all transfers. Responsible for registration of all patient types when Patient Access is closed, records all registrations on shared drive. Scans all appropriate documentation into the DI system before the end of each shift. Notifies the appropriate level of all discrepancies.score: N/A Provides timely feedback to all customers regarding patient placement concerns, identifies and tracks problem areas regarding patient placement, reports to the appropriate level. Works as a team to solve placement issues. Assures that appropriate orders for Direct Admission are received via fax prior to bed assignments. Audits for Date, Time, Dx, Signature and disposition, works with MD and office staff to assure that all criteria are met.score: N/A Collaborates with the Transport Department on patient discharge and intra hospital transfer need, as an effort to improve patient throughput. Changes Bed Status via the Bed Management System to communicate STAT and CLEAN NEXT to EVS staff. Verbally communicates with EVS Management Team on specific areas in need. Periodically may be required to make rounds on specific units to assess bed status.score: N/A Participates in policy development, education and training of new staff. Assists in the education of all staff who utilize the Bed Management System including Unit Clerks, Nursing staff, EVS, and managers. Notifies Tech Support when issues present represent application issues and XT Administrators are not on site.score: N/A Responsible for working as a team member for all activities including scheduling, assists in in obtaining coverage when necessary Communicates and reports to incoming shift. Refers problems in daily practice to appropriate level.score: N/A Collects data as assigned and submits to appropriate level. Utilizes shared drive to document information in the appropriate format. Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent, and one year to two years of previous work related experience required. Work requires the ability to read and understand written instruction.
