Job Overview

Responsible for managing the administration of Workers’ Compensation claims for employee incidents and injuries.  Is the direct point of contact for employees, physicians, TPA, carrier and any other service provider related to the management of the Workers’ Compensation claim.  Responsible for coordinating and tracking of initiatives to reduce the incidence and severity of Workers’ Compensation claims.  Supports the Wellness Program through communication, activities, and education, encompassing the physical, mental, and emotional wellness of the employee.  

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Serves as a resource throughout the organization for Workers’ Compensation matters.
  • Manages cases for cost-effective treatment and prompt return to work and applies safety training or other return to work initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate completion of accident and injury reports. Ensure thorough root cause analysis and corrective actions are recommended where appropriate.
  • Create meaningful communications to promote safe employee behaviors and increased safety awareness.
  • Manages data input, analyzes data and prepares concise, accurate and meaningful reports identifying injury rate and cost trends.
  • Is responsible for administrative functions related to Workers’ Compensation claims and Wellness.
  • Collaborates with the Wellness Programs Manager, Wellness Committee, and HR partners to identify, develop, and implement programs to lead employees to a healthier lifestyle.
  • Assists Workers’ Compensation and Wellness Programs Manager in other job functions as needed.

Qualifications

 

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or closely related field
  • 3– 5 years workers’ compensation experience including return to work
  • Demonstrated expert computer skills including outlook, power point, word and excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships
  • Ability to work in a fast paced multitasked environment
  • Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to be effective in complex situations
