Provides technical assistance within the scope of the assigned area. Responsibilities may include system monitoring, storage media management, user management, quality control and performance monitoring and patient information management. Security, network monitoring, management reporting, trouble-shooting and problem solving are also possible position responsibilities.
Works with customers to identify and research problems and evaluate solutions and alternatives as instructed. Maintains all on-going system maintenance and enhancements as instructed. Uses system tools to adapt application as instructed. Maintains system security and or necessary system backups within established guidelines as instructed. Maintains necessary system documentation according to established guidelines as instructed. Works system and interface error correction lists as instructed. Works with appropriate vendors to rectify system issues. Assists IT staff in accomplishing daily tasks as necessary. Learns and uses new procedures and reviews/updated older information throughout the year. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Special Projects
Work requires the basic knowledge of theories and principles associated with the field of management information systems or computer science. Knowledge of and experience with client/server technology, networking, user management, and databases are preferred. Work requires the ability to interpret a technical document, or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill. Work requires the analytical ability to resolve complex problems requiring the use of basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles.
