 Job Overview


On a daily basis, according to established standards and procedures, perform EEG, Ambulatory EEG, Long Term Video Monitoring, ECI recordings. Completes daily paperwork and billing according to policy. Counsels patients and/or family members regarding procedure(s) to be performed. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory/legislative policies as apply to the profession(s) in the field of ElectroNeurodiagnostic Technology and adheres to same.


Records Adult and Pediatric Routine EEG, Extended EEG, Long Term Video Monitoring, Ambulatory Monitoring according to departmental policies and procedures for both inpatients and outpatients within the department or at bedside. Records Neonatal Routine EEG, Extended EEG, Long Term Video Monitoring studies according to departmental policies and procedures. Records ECI recordings according to departmental policy and procedure. Applies electrodes for all studies using I 10-20 with various media according to circumstances and/or procedure. Trouble shoots problems with electrode security and assures quality placement and adherence. Troubleshoots problems associated with quality/integrity of recording to assure highest possible quality of each study. Completes documentation for each study including: history, MEDS, reason for study within the EEG recording system; documentation of completed study, physician notifications (i.e.: STAT order complete, abnormal results, etc), patient and nursing staff instructions / education within the medical record. Archives studies to EEG server or to DVD in accordance with equipment / media requirements Maintains current knowledge in professional field and applies knowledge to day to day duties. Is able to effectively discuss professional standards. Completes daily paperwork for billing, faxing, mailing and physician notifications in a timely manner and in accordance wit hospital policy. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Special Projects


REEGT( EEG) from the American Board of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) or a graduate from an EEG certification program who has completed a minimum of 500 clinical hours.
