Responsible for directing all sections of the Division of Cardiology to maintain efficient and effective operations. Coordinate operations, strategic planning, expansion and Performance Improvement activities to insure growth, fiscal responsibility and to meet the requirements of regulatory agencies. Acts as Division of Cardiology representative for interdisciplinary committees to enhance the service provided by and for the hospital. Works in conjunction with the Chairman and Chief of Cardiac Surgery to provide high quality services and maximize clinical services.
Leads cost containment and patient satisfaction initiatives for the department. Collaborates with other department Directors and Marketing to enhance volume and revenue for the department Works proactively to eliminate issues related to patients, physicians, staff members by utilizing Performance Improvement processes which promotes team work among the care providers throughout the organization. Meets with managers, supervisors regularly to share, discuss the hospital operations, budgets, current status. Holds regularly scheduled staff meetings to communicate hospital, dept. functions, operations, projects, budgets, requirements etc. Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with Dept. Chairman, Chief of Cardiac Surgery & Hospital Sr./ Executive Administration as necessary. Completes specific work projects assigned by V.P. Serves as clinical and administrative liaison between staff, administration and physicians regarding technical and patient care concerns, assure compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agencies, participates and supports Quality initiatives. Provides an environment that promotes professional growth and development through effective leadership. Analyzes departmental management developmental needs and initiates action to strengthen overall operating and individual skills Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or closely related field, Masters preferred, and five to seven years experience in CV technology. Knowledge of Cardiovascular system and disease states and precipitating conditions associated with Cardiovascular Disease. Knowledge of patient and staff education as it relates to CV disease, treatment & prevention. Current knowledge of medical and legal laws as they pertain to clinical areas of responsibility. Needs to be able to apply human resources management; application of organizing; prioritizing; utilization skills; application of effective leadership roles.
