Responsible for directing and administering the Environmental Services program to maintain the hospital environment in a sanitary, attractive and orderly condition. Establishes standards and work procedures for the Environmental staff in accordance with the established policies of the Medical Center. Conducts research to improve the technology of the department. Ensure compliance of required standards as set by regulatory agencies. Sets expectations and monitors compliance for enhancing customer satisfaction. Oversees Environmental Service operations at SJRMC, SJWH, and SVNH.
Develops and maintains systems that include monitoring, accounting, and reporting. Maintains records to demonstrate all aspects of financial accountability and reports which reflect financial status on an immediate and ongoing basis. Provides monthly benchmarking statistics to demonstrate comparative performance. Evaluates performance over time (monthly and bi-monthly statistic reports); monthly cash flow. Selects and purchase equipment and supplies, and provide a means of preventive maintenance. Ensures the delivery of quality linen services. Implements process improvement to upgrade customer satisfaction. Maintains dept facilities, equipment and supplies in a condition to promote health, efficiency and safety. Maintains safety, infection, and environmental controls, policies, procedures. Meet all regulatory, federal, state and local codes. Develops and implements strategic long-range goals consistent with advances in industry. Define scope of goals. Sets expectations and monitor compliance for enhancing customer satisfaction. Directs and evaluates all environmental programs, competencies, cleaning standards to include proper utilization of all available resources. Actively participates in Physical Environment Committee; Hazmat Mgt Admin Rounds; provide updates, reports, trends, solutions, improvements on a monthly basis. Ensure compliance for enhancing customer satisfaction. Maintains liaison with outside contract services, i.e., window washing, extermination, drapery cleaning, equipment repair, and reupholstering. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Special Projects
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or closely related field, and five to seven years of work related experience. Work requires analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources and apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems.
