Responsible for the ay to day technical support activities (24X7) for the network infrastructure that includes: Network design, monitoring and analyzing to achieve a 99.9% up time and maintenance of network components. Stay abreast of current and future trends in networking hardware and operating systems. Assist management in designing state of the art, customer oriented network subsystems. Assist department network administrators with problem solving and/or enhancement issues.

Stays abreast of current and future trends in networking hardware and operating systems. Directs systems support relative to the maintenance and enhancements of all operating systems and servers. Works with others as a team on assigned projects. Maintains and closes trouble tickets in a timely manner. Consults with other departments with applying technology to their business needs. Retains all documentation current. Ensures new documentation will be created on completion of project. At time act as either a project manager or project lead. Assigning resources to tasks and creating projects plans to projects. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and two to three years of experience in networking support. Knowledge of Cisco and Microsoft systems preferred. Experience with Windows server 2000/3 and XP environments required (MCSE desired). Knowledge of WAN and LAN networks, ISDN T1/E1, Ethernet, ISDN Switches & IP connectivity, TCP/IP networking, switches, Routers, Firewalls, IP telephony strongly preferred. Demonstration of a customer service orientation through a proven ability to work well with other people.
