     Job Overview

    Working closely with the Vice President, Chief Development Officer, the Major Gifts Officer (MGO) is Responsible for donor relations and  philanthropic operations including strategic planning, promotion, budget, standards, organization and industry policies, compliance, and evaluation.  The MGO  will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects.  In addition, the MGO will assist in the identification and qualification of future potential major gift prospects.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or closely related field required
    • Five to seven years successful experience in major or plannned fundraising, preferably in the medical field
    • Ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gift donors in order to develop relationships between them and the Medical Center. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge.
    • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse areas. Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated writing skills. Must be a highly energetic professional with a proven track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts of $25,000 and above
