Responsible to answer incoming calls for entire department, directing, and screening the call in a professional and customer service manner. Takes appropriate message to include paging the physician if required. Typically performs related clerical duties including sorting and sending mail. Specific duties may vary depending upon area in need.
Answers and monitors all calls coming in from the console for the entire department. Directs and screening the call in a professional manner and takes a detailed message to include paging the physician if required. Assist caller with locating scheduled appointments using SMS Invasion and INFINITT (patient demographics/procedure). Provides patient with clear directions to the appropriate location. Works collaboratively with all areas of the center to ensure patients, physicians, vendors, or external departments are being directed in a timely & courteous manner to the appropriate destination. Reports any issues to Clerical Supervisor if needed. Takes action to assure patients privacy and standards are met. Notifies Supervisor of difficult situations as they arise. Forwards reports to all authorized physicians as requested in accordance with HIPAA regulations using INFINITT fax distribution system. Assist in training new employees/current staff in operator duties on enhancements made to the console per system upgrades. Performs related clerical duties including sorting and sending mail. Specific duties may vary depending upon area in need. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Special Projects
Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and no previous experience plus three months or less of on the job training and orientation.
