Responsible for assisting Clerical Supervisor/Manager in monitoring the work of clerical personnel engaged in greeting and assisting patients with scheduling appointments. In doing so, ensures work is carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures. Monitors work flow and recommends more efficient/effective methods of daily protocols. Responsible for scheduling patients' examinations, give instruction/prepare patient for exams according to established guidelines and procedures.
Assists Clerical Supervisor/Manager with maintaining work priorities. Assists in monitoring work flow and suggests more efficient/effective methods of daily protocols Accurately and efficiently schedules patients, places exam orders with appropriate exam preparation based on established department protocol. Escalates significant issues to Clerical Supervisor or Chief Technologist, or Manager or Director. Obtains, verifies patient demographics to include consent form, scanning identification, insurance cards, and other related forms. Activates accounts associated with scheduled exams. Collects financial obligation if applicable. Enters patient demographics, assist with any financial insurance data entry to include payment collection, insurance identification, and patient notes if applicable. Demonstrates leadership and sets the tone for acceptable personal and professional conduct. Greets patients and visitors, directs them to their desired destination. Answers and directs incoming calls to the appropriate party, while being mindful of how long the calls are on hold. Use effective communication to resolve a conflicts as they may occur. Works in other areas of the department as needed. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Special Projects
Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and one to two years of previous work related experience plus three months or less of on the job training and orientation. Requires the ability to gather and interpret data in situations where the information or problems are not overly difficult or complex.
