Assures the strategic objectives developed by the leadership of the organization are linked to measurement mechanisms at the departmental level, which cascade up into a senior management report and form the basis for improvement initiatives. Responsible for providing clinical quality data, financial and statistical analysis.
Oversee and coordinate availability of organizational PI measurement data to management team through various communication mechanisms including development of PI tools and use of software. Development and implement tools for data collection and analysis that leaders can use on a shift to shift basis to manage and measure progress towards meeting strategic objectives. Develop and implement templates for departmental indicator processes: evaluation of same, data collection and formatting, ongoing interpretation and use of indicator data. Using competitive benchmark data, historical data and strategic direction, assist and guide the management team in setting and evaluating targets for performance measures. Maintains working knowledge of DSS System data warehouse. Understands related systems and extracts appropriate data elements for analytics. Develop models for work redesign around data collection/analyses methodologies. Assist management team in using performance measurement data to determine the need for performance improvement initiatives, integrating financial data. Conduct annual inventory of performance measures, including strategic and departmental for appropriateness and connection to the strategic plan. Develop and conduct performance improvement education as necessary. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Biostatistics, or in a healthcare related field and 3-5 years of related experience required. Work requires the analytical ability necessary to resolve problems requiring a professional level of knowledge in a specific discipline/field and to design complex clinical data processing systems and programs, along with great attention to detail. Requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Requires ability to hear, proofread, and check documents for accuracy. Requires the ability to fluidly use word processing, presentation graphics, database, spreadsheet, and statistical analyses software.
