Responsible for greeting patients and visitors upon patient arrival to include verification of destination. Schedules and process patient at time of check in to confirm patient identification, prescription, and insurance information. In addition, this process may include examination preparation according to established guidelines and procedures such as assisting with dispensing of oral contrast. Answer incoming calls for entire department, directing and screening them accordingly.
Responsible for greeting patients and visitors upon patients arrival to include verification of destination using the Invision RAS schedule to direct the patients. Accurately and efficiently schedules patients, places exam orders with appropriate exam preparation based on established department protocol. Obtains, verifies patient demographics to include consent form, scanning identification, insurance cards, and other related forms. Collects from patients financial obligation if applicable. Activates accounts associated with scheduled exams. Answers incoming calls, screening and directing them accordingly, and/or takes messages. Efficiently utilizes Invision, PACS, and/or INFINITT System and also has a level of understanding when needed. Coordinates and communicates between the insurance verifiers to ensure the scheduled examination is cleared (i.e. demographics, insurance, precertification, referral, ABN or Paynav) if applicable prior to patient's arrival. Performs all related clerical duties such as photocopying insurances cards, consent forms, and identification cards. Identify, successfully work through and resolve problems that may occur. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Special Projects
Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and less than one year of previous experience plus three months or less of on the job training and orientation. Requires the ability to gather and interpret data in situations where the information or problems are not overly difficult or complex.
