 Job Overview

 

Responsible for assisting the child life, nursing and medical staff in providing psychosocial and emotional support to pediatric patients. Through the use of therapeutic play, helps children to express feelings. Enables the patient and family to understand illness and hospital procedures.

Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Education or closely related field. Must be eligible for child life certification or certified. Work requires the analytical ability to resolve complex problems requiring the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in-depth, experienced-based knowledge. Work requires the ability to educate patients and their families or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
