 Job Overview

Responsible for providing comprehensive nutrition assessment, intervention, monitoring and evaluation to high risk obstetrical patients. Provides comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to adult weight management patients. Conducts lectures to medical students. Provides educational programs to medical and other health professionals through lectures, in-services and group training. Develops nutrition education materials for health professionals. Provides nutrition consultation to health professionals. Conducts nutrition research, publishes articles in peer-reviewed journals, presents nutrition related research and projects at major professional conferences.

Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Masters degree with five years experience in maternal-fetal nutrition or Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Foods and Nutrition with ten years experience in maternal-fetal nutrition. Registration required as a Registered Dietitian (RD). Work requires advanced level of skill to identify, initiate, design and implement research, projects or programs. Work requires the ability to work in an independent environment with minimal supervision.
