Job Overview
Responsible for 24 hour per day, daily operation of a Nursing Unit/Department by managing all resources necessary to meet the patient needs, providing an environment conducive to employee growth and productivity and functioning within the confines of regulatory requirements. Functions collaboratively and in partnership with Senior Administration to develop and implement strategic plan and to meet short and long term goals of the Healthcare System.
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Three to five years of previous work related experience, plus three to six months of on-the-job training and orientation. Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey and successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) within one year of hire. Work requires analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources and apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems.
Effective January 2019, St. Joseph’s Health requires all employee certifications for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be granted through the American Heart Association.
