Job Overview
The Interim Chairperson will oversee all aspects of the Department including its divisions. The Interim Chairperson will provide collaborative leadership consonant with the mission statement and vision of St. Joseph's University Medical Center for the clinical, administrative and educational components of the Department and be accountable for its fiscal health.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit, retain, and develop a high-quality staff and faculty. Develop, implement, and coordinate a comprehensive education program at the pre-doctoral, post-doctoral, and faculty levels including teaching, research, and scholarly activity.
Streamline clinical and business systems utilizing global approaches to enhance profitability, cash position, service, and cost reduction. Become a leader in the design and development of innovative clinical programs and related technologies.
Establish policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality for all departmental services.
Assess credentials and document the performance of all medical staff members (students, residents, faculty, attendings).
Participate in such other duties as may be assigned/requested by the Vice President for Medical Affairs.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and medical staff regulations.
Ensure departmental compliance with Risk Management and Quality Initiatives.
Serve as a clinical role model through direct patient care, teaching, and research.
Develop community health initiatives to achieve specific, measurable improvements in health status.
