Job Overview
Under general supervision and according to established procedures provides pre and post-surgery care on all cardiac surgery patients. Assists the supervising cardiac surgeon in performing cardiac surgery.
Work requires knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the clinical aspects of patient care at a level normally acquired through completion of an approved Physician's Assistant Program culminating in a Bachelors degree of Science and three to five years of previous work related experience. Licensure required as a Physician's Assistant by the State of New Jersey. Work required the analytical ability to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of scientific or technical principles, theories, concepts and in-depth experienced based knowledge. Work requires the ability to develop and write instructional/training materials, prepare detailed assessments of patient referrals, conduct individual or group therapy sessions, or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
